Couldn't Have Happened to a Nicer Guy: The Saga of Joseph Strickland
I was not the only person to write about Bishop Strickland, but I was the funniest, and you should revisit my old pieces and ignore everyone else who writes about this
The Vatican has confirmed in a statement today that Joseph Strickland has been promoted from “Bishop of Tyler” to “Bishop of a Large Empty Patch of Texas Scrubland”. In a sense, this is a sobering reminder of our own privilege, as many of us work in jobs where we can just repeatedly ignore our duties and make public statements about how our boss is not only a bad person but a literal instrument of Satan; sadly, Strickland did not enjoy this privilege himself.
I have collected some old writing, dating back to the pre-G.O.T.H.S. era, on Strickland. I hope that when his final story is written in the Book of Life, it includes the line “Like all McDonaldland characters, Grimace is canonically Bahá’í”.
