LISTEN: The Dickinsons and I Discuss Psycho Catholic Novels on Bibliovile
Sorry that this is how you all learn what my voice sounds like
Hi all - Bibliovile is one of very few podcasts for me that is absolutely appointment listening, and remains the greatest Iowa-based terrible-book podcast of all time. The good news is that this week, Mick and Susan hosted me to goof off and talk about terrible books. The bad news is that I got to pick the books and chose two truly jaw-dropping works of contemporary Catholic fiction.
Mick read Vatican Championship Wrestling by William Hastings, some mostly harmless Kindle genre fiction about an exorcist tapped to infiltrate a demon wrestling ring. Susan and I read When the Wood is Dry: An Edgy Catholic Thriller by Joseph Cillo Jr., a truly horrifying mishmash of phonetic Mexican accents, unnecessary violent brutality, and muddled anti-abortion propaganda, truly one of the worst things I've ever read including everything I've read for G.O.T.H.S.
The show is available wherever you get podcasts. I hope you enjoy it and give Bibliovile a listen! And then after that listen to this show.
